The Grand Island (NE) Independent<http://mailview.custombriefings.com/mailview.aspx?m=2009102201acte&r=4216849-fa76&l=010-a58&t=c> (10/22, Coddington) reports on a workshop in Palmer which "was intended to help teachers find ways to make the most of...computers and use them to engage students." The workshop, led by education and technology expert Tony Vincent, "is designed to give teachers extended time dedicated to exploring new online tools such as social bookmarking, wikis and free videoconferencing, which allow teachers and students to share ideas and collaborate on projects." Vincent observed that "smaller schools tend to be more informal, and less effort is required to spread technology use schoolwide with a smaller student body." He said, "I think the teachers feel like they can experiment more in a smaller school."
